Now, paint the thing.
This is really the coolest part because you get to see it all come together. Keep your original plan by your side so you can see what it should look like and take a break to stop and look at the banner from far away to see that it is looking right.
When painting, don’t get uptight about getting the lines perfect. First off, you won’t be able to see little drops or fuzzy lines from the ground, anyway. Second off, relax and breathe into your work. Most fonts are based on a logic of repeated curves, shapes and angles. Get to know your font and start to let the brush do the work for you. Remember, you aren’t writing—you are drawing letters.
Finally, you will have an imprint of the design painted on your floor. This is a badge of honor. Take a moment to enjoy your brilliance. Deal with your landlady later.
